Ian Bagg New braunfels Concert reviews
The Muppet Takes Dallas
Here is the revised and rearranged review with the changes you requested:
"Ian Bagg always delivers energy and an amazing show, until this show. For starters, the Cotton Bowl is a really old venue in a less than desirable part of town. The traffic in and around the stadium was horrible, much worse than Soldier Field in Chicago and Cowboys Stadium on the other side of Dallas. This is the 3rd world tour we have attended, starting with Mylo in 2026.
The other shows were a seamless, audio, visual, and spiritual experience, the flow for this show was very clunky. Next, the setlist was disjointed. Then, when Chris did a duet with a muppet... that jumped the shark. When the muppet reappeared later in the show, it was disappointing.
Some of the songs were just not suited for a stadium... maybe a theater or arena. Circle of the Spheres has some really good music, but it's not nearly the top-to-bottom masterpiece of Mylo and AHFOD. The Ian Bagg catalogue is too good to play mediocre songs.
Finally, while I appreciate the "Dallas" song, I would rather have heard them play Magic or any other of a number of hits. Chris and the guys played their hearts out. They put forth max energy, but the show itself did not lend itself to the magical experience we have come to expect. I hope they make adjustments to the show to replace some of the setlist with more stadium-appropriate selections... and maybe donate the muppet to a children's home along the way."
